100% Egyptian Cotton

‘100% Egyptian Cotton’: a venerated trademark across the globe, and Egypt’s inspiration for IFS 2017. Over two centuries, Egypt has established its ancient export as the ‘White Gold’ synonymous with the country and the key to its development. Now, against a dynamic backdrop of a cotton-field, its young designers have come together to reflect upon cotton’s lifecycle – from seed to harvest, thread to garment, farming women to global consumers – simultaneously establishing themselves as the leaders of Egypt’s nascent jewellery and fashion industries.
