The British Pavilion for the 17th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia

British Pavilion 2021: An Exhibition Tour

We're thrilled to unveil this year's British Pavilion exhibition for the 17th Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, 20 May - 21 November 2021.

The Garden of Privatised Delights curated by Madeleine Kessler and Manijeh Verghese transforms the British Pavilion into a garden of possibilities for the use of public space inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights

Working with five teams of designers, the curators transformed the rooms of the British Pavilion  into seven privatised public spaces reimagined as inclusive, immersive experiences. Familiar UK public spaces which are increasingly under threat, such as the youth centre, the high street and the local pub, sit alongside the traditionally inaccessible private garden square.

Step into the garden through the film above and explore its delights. You can head to our British Pavilion website to find out more about the curators, the designers and the concept behind the rooms within The Garden of Privatised Delights

With huge thanks to all our partners, sponsors and supporters for helping us to make this happen.
