Now in its second year Fashion DNA: Ukraine culminated in a series of window installations during Ukrainian Fashion Week. A group of 8 emerging designers, selected by a panel of Ukranian buyers and Matthew Murphy, co-founder of London's OTHER Shop, have been working with UK industry experts over 6 months.

Behind the scenes they have developed business plans, sales strategies and masterminded how to reach their customers with UK experts Katie Rose from The Bridge Co and Krista Grundane from Teatum Jones. This knowledge was put to the test during a creative collaboration with UK set designer Philip Cooper. Philip lead a workshop challenging the designers to develop window displays that at once summed up their brand DNA and complemented the identity of the store itself.

The result is a series of 8 vitrines across Kyiv from Lara Quint's abstract landscape of blue sand in which Chrysanthemum flowers slowly perish, to Jean Gritsfeldt's circus inspired window and Ivan Frolov and Artem Klimchuk's school disco replete with pink gym equipment. The windows are an opportunity to build links between stores and young designers and to give designers a practical understanding of the retail environment. Launched at Ukrainian Fashion Week the stores will remain in the city for all to enjoy throughout November.
