AKEDO
AKEDO founder Eleni Labrou draws upon the cultural, linguistic and religious pluralism of South Africa and her own mixed Greek and South African heritage in the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, ‘African Diversity’. Contrasting clean silhouettes with handcrafted prints and textures, AKEDO challenges the narrow ethnocentric expectations commonly projected onto African design with a fresh, diversified approach better attuned to the brand’s individual identity and the intricacies of African fashion.
AKEDO is showing as part of the International Fashion Showcase 2017, to find out more, click here.
