The British Council and Crafts Council are delighted to present Form + Motion, an exhibition created for the UK Pavilion at the 10th Cheongju Craft Biennale.
Taking the words of British poet T. S. Eliot as its starting point, Form + Motion presents selected works by contemporary British makers, exploring motion and movement in craft practice. Spanning scale, discipline and material, these works bear witness to the dynamic and complex interplay between making and movement: Movement in making, of ideas, and, through both time and place.
The exhibition, designed by London-based creative studio Faculty, presents four curated spaces; eight makers selected by the Crafts Council, with three makers selected by Craft Biennale Scotland, and Thirteen Ways selected artist Linda Brothwell’s The Tools of South Korea and Hull. In the heart of the Pavilion is the screening room, presenting 44 films selected by Crafts Council for Real to Reel 2017: The Craft Film Festival.
