Making Futures is a biennial research platform presented by Arts University Plymouth that explores contemporary craft and maker movements as ‘change agents’ in 21st century society. The platform is fuelled by a fundamental belief that small-scale making can have a transformative and positive impact on communities, livelihoods and even the planet itself if we start crafting that future now.
British Council is committed to supporting Making Futures by sponsoring delegates from Asia under the Crafting Futures programme in order to connect Asian craft leaders to the UK, bring key female Asian voices to the international debate on the sector and for the UK to learn more about contemporary issues and craft practice in Asia.
