Making Futures is a biennial research platform presented by Plymouth College of Art exploring contemporary craft and maker movements as ‘change agents’ in 21st century society. Convinced of the transformative potential of small-scale making and its capacity to contribute to new progressive future.

British Council is committed to supporting Making Futures by sponsoring delegates from Asia under the Crafting Futures programme in order to connect Asian craft leaders to the UK, bring key female Asian voices to the international debate on the sector and for the UK to learn more about contemporary issues and craft practice in Asia.

In 2017, British Council supported 1 male and 5 female craft practitioners to present papers from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia and Thailand.
