The Crafts Council are organising a special Private View event for interior designers, architects and design industry professionals featuring a programme of talks and tours exploring the relationships and cross-over between contemporary craft and design.
Collect: the International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects, presented by the Crafts Council, returns to the Saatchi Gallery, London for its 13th edition and welcomes 36 carefully selected UK and international galleries presenting museum-quality work in ceramic, glass, textiles, furniture, wood, jewellery and metal.
Collect returns with a new look created by architects Mowat & Company and plenty to explore; an expanded Collect Open section presenting 14 new and emerging makers selected by designer Faye Toogood; 11 new gallery exhibitors and 6 Spotlights where exhibitors have been selected to show experimental work displayed in innovative ways.
On public show for the first time will be the newest acquisition to the Crafts Council’s national Collection of contemporary craft – The Essex House Tapestries: the Life of Julie Cope, a pair of large scale tapestries by Grayson Perry.
Designer-led tours of Collect will take place throughout the evening.
