@fashionmission.id is a British Council facilitated fashion collaboration between Dian Pelangi and London College of Fashion.

In February 2015, Dian Pelangi undertook a residency at LCF during London Fashion Week, where she participated in activities such as a hijab styling workshop at the International Fashion Showcase and academic talks with Professor Reina Lewis at London College of Fashion. 

As part of her time at London College of Fashion, Dian was working closely with LCF students, inviting third and fourth year students from the BA Textiles and BA Womenswear programmes to participate in a competition to design a fashion collection inspired by Dian Pelangi’s work and her approach to colour, print, traditional Indonesian textiles and modestwear.  The winners would be given the opportunity to undertake a 3-month internship at the Dian Pelangi factory and studio in Pekalongan and work with Dian to produce a collection to showcase at Jakarta Fashion Week in October 2015.

The two young designers chosen, Nelly Rose Stewart and Odette Steele, have been living at the Dian Pelangi factory and studio in Pekalongan and working with Dian to produce a collection to showcase at Jakarta Fashion Week in October 2015.

Follow the colourful journey as we visit Pekalongan to see some exclusive sneak previews of the collaboration! The final collection will be presented at Jakarta Fashion Week on Monday 26 October from 20.30 – 21.00, so watch this space to see the final work!
