Established as an annual fashion contest, Look of Style is run by the leading Philippine fashion magazine LOOK, national newspaper The Inquirer and the British Council. The national competition offers opportunities to emerging Filipino designers to receive training and development in the fashion industry.
Look of Style supports the next generation of fashion designers and enables opportunities for joint showcasing and knowledge exchange between British and Filipino designers.
Entrants compete by submitting their portfolios along with three specially created looks on the theme of the competition. This year’s given theme, MARIA CLARA, will challenge finalists to create wearable clothes and accessories that reflect the new generation’s take on the Philippine national attire, showing its potential for mainstream fashion.
The overall winner receives a prize including professional training and a trip to London to learn about the fashion sector in the UK.
Presented by British Council, Look Magazine and Inquirer Lifestyle in cooperation with Hana Shampoo, Champion Infinity, SM Accessories and The London College of Contemporary Arts. The event is also supported by The GREAT Campaign, The British Embassy in the Philippines, Max Factor and Z Salon.
