Inside the GRAS Mobile Maker Library © GRAS
20 August 2014
GRAS worked with joiner Andrew Longworth to convert a classic caravan to form the first mobile Maker Library. The caravan was restored by the GRAS team and adapted to house a library, exhibition space and space for making, while providing tea-making facilities and a seating area for reading or discussion. The library will be located at GRAS’s studio but it is intended to travel throughout Scotland to facilitate collaboration and learning. All of the interventions are based on Alan Meron’s kit design for the Maker Library Network, adapted to be demountable and lightweight.
