Holly Lewis, co-founder of London-based architecture and urbanism practice We Made That, has been invited to speak at Strelka Week in St Petersburg. Strelka Weeks is an educational programme held in cities across Russia centring around urban statements about these host cities. In St. Petersburg, Strelka Weeks focuses on the future development of the city and sets examples of other projects relevant for the Russian cultural capital.

Holly will lead a seminar entitled Community Reconstruction: a British approach to public spaces focusing on We Made That’s work across research, strategy and design. The practice’s wide-ranging portfolio, spanning culture, economy, industry and community in city redevelopment, showcases a multi-faceted and socially engaged approach to architecture and urban design.

After the introductory lecture, the audience will explore with Holly how We Made That's experiences and methods could be transferred to St Petersburg today – in particular the potential of the city’s ‘grey belt’, a complex of industrial buildings surrounding the city.

Strelka Week in St. Petersburg will be held 29 September -7 October 2017. The full programme visit the Strelka website.
