Pure Pattern

For the second year, the Embassy of Vietnam and British Council Vietnam will collaborate with curator Gemma Williams, this year exploring the cultural importance of pattern.

Sponsored by Aquafina, Pure Pattern will showcase the work of Nguyen Minh Giang Tu, winner of the Aquafina Pure Fashion 2013 competition. Now in its seventh year, this competition collaborates with the nation’s fashion talents, to support a new generation of emerging designers and promote them on an international platform. As a competition panelist, fashion designer Nguyen Cong Tri’s work will also be on display, investigating the mentoring relationship. His archive includes examples of his unique use of pattern and print in Ao Dai, the national dress of Vietnam.
