PAKISTAN – DESIGNER – SHELLA HASHIM, PHOTOGRAPHER – ZAHID MATLOOB
Butterfly Effect
The potentially profound influence of a single action on the world at large defines the ‘Butterfly Effect’. Entailing epics from culturally diverse Pakistan, this collection showcases six designers’ with their interpretations of indigenous crafts and strategic blending of fashion with business. Graduates of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Shella Hashim, Ahsan Nazir, Sania Qureshi, Waqas Ahmed, Sofia Rahsid, Sarah Javaid, and Schehrezade Muzammil, bring to London the concept of a global monoculture with their representation of ‘Made in Pakistan’. Rendering silhouettes with an aesthetic detail, through each collection the designer marks his occurrence in the landscape of the world.
