Our Curator in Residence programme at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad, India offers a UK based curator the chance to research and develop the NID’s collection for up to five weeks. Open to early-mid career design curators the residency offers the chance to work with archives, build networks and expand knowledge in an international context, as well as providing expertise for NID to reinvigorate their archival material.
This opportunity forms part of the British Council’s design programme in India which seeks to help develop the skills of the sector to document and capture the stories of Indian design. We facilitate a range of collaborations between the UK and India, creating opportunities for professionals to work alongside their Indian counterparts on projects particularly around design writing and curating.
