New Landscapes Report

New Landscapes Report

The University of the Arts has now published the New Landscapes pilot programme report, in partnership with us. The first of its kind, this report shares the findings and five case studies nurturing international cooperation around ethically responsible and socially engaged fashion and textile design.

From January to April this year, the New Landscapes: Fashion, Textiles and Technology (FTT) Catalyst R&D Grant Scheme pilot programme brought together five UK fashion and textile small and medium-sized enterprises and counterparts in Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries.

Their projects included the production of circular yarn, 2D and 3D fabric sampling to reduce material waste in Bangladesh, supporting circular denim practices among workers in Nigeria’s denim industry and development of sustainable yarn from sisal blended fibres in Kenya.

The partnerships received funding, academic research support and access to facilities and expertise for mutually beneficial projects that promote the cultural, social and environmental values of a sustainable global fashion and textiles sector.
