Machines Room have run a continuing programme of one month Maker Library Network Residencies for local makers to use the space, tools, machines and support to further their making practice or create new products.
Building on this success, in June they will be launching an exciting new phase of the programme, and will be hosting 6 makers in the Maker Library. 4 makers will be invited to particpate in a 6 Month Professional Residency, benefitting from low rent and easy access to machines. 2 makers will invited to participate in the 1 month Local and International Residencies to experiment and develop a project. For the inaugural month of June one of these spaces will be occupied by an international member of the Maker Library Network.
Designer James Tooze has been working on a MLN edition of his wall mounted desk, which will provide the makers in residence with a lockable, folding work station in the Maker Library at Machines Room.
If you are interested in applying for either the professional or local residencies, see the open call documents below for more information. Get in touch with Gareth Owen Lloyd with any questions > gareth@machinesroom.org
