Angel Chen

In this collection, Angel Chen’s fascination with China’s distinct local identities – their traditional dress, embroidery, ceremonies and myths – turns to their diverse sub-Saharan counterparts. In her second nod to African cultural traditions since her Ugandan inspired 2014 graduate collection, Chen’s flowing references span the beadwork worn by Nyangatom women in Ethiopia, to the embroidery of Cameroonian Bamileke people via the embellished crowns of Yoruba kings.

Mercedes-Benz will present Angel Chen at Milano Moda Donna A/W17. Angel shows at Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week.
