The British Council, in partnership with the Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP), and the Helsinki Design Week (HDW) is seeking applications from practitioners to participate in a residency programme which will take place in Helsinki from 1 - 30 September during the Helsinki Design Week (4-14 September).

This is the third residency that the British Council, HIAP and HDW have collaborated on, since when it was first established as part of the World Design Capital programme in 2012. This residency opportunity is for UK-based practitioners, who work at the intersections of art, design and architecture, and who have an interest in critical investigations and cross-disciplinary research.

This year's residency project focuses on the great changes the design world is currently facing in terms of ideas, production and technological innovations. For this, Helsinki provides an inspiring platform to explore how these shifts are manifesting in its urban realm, from the macro scale of the city to the micro context of local areas.

Deadline for applications is 4pm (GMT) on Sunday 20 July 2014
