Following our open call for a Curator in Residence at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, we are pleased to announce that Tom Wilson has now arrived in India to begin the residency. Tom is now busy working with students and staff at NID to research and develop an exhibition around NID’s collection, which will form part of the wrap around activity at the Design History Conference in September. This residency is part of our design curation programme in India.
Tom Wilson is a design historian based in London. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, he was responsible for cataloguing and digitising the Design Museum's permanent collection, which he continues to manage and maintain on a part-time basis. Tom is also Lecturer in Critical and Contextual Studies at London Metropolitan University, and is currently undertaking PhD research into the design and display strategies of the former Commonwealth Institute in Kensington, the future home of the Design Museum.
Tom will blog about his experience upon returning to the UK.
