A little shop is trying to make a big impression in Belfast next week with the opening of Catalyst Arts ‘retail’ exhibition MULTIPLE in partnership with the British Council Northern Ireland.
Locating for four days as a pop-up shop at Belfast’s PS2 Gallery the work is a little different, featuring souvenirs, collectables, posters, paraphernalia and lo-fi commodities made by 14 local artists. All goods are 'for sale'. You can expect wry insights into the city from the artists involved as well as humorous, beautiful, more unusual objects and rarities showing a softer side to the city.
The initiative came from the British Council, which has run similar souvenir programmes in partnership with local artists in Europe and Asia. Participating artists include: Catherine Roberts, Ben Craig, Miguel Martin, Ciara Dunne, Charlie Bosanquet, Duncan Ross, Fionnuala Doran, Gemma Withers, Helen McDonnell, Ryan O'Reilly, Philip Hession, Simon Mills, Sinead Bhreathnach-Cashell and Martin Carter.
The project runs daily from Thursday 31 March 11am-6pm to Sunday 3 April 1pm-6pm
Location: PS2 Gallery, 18 Donegall Street, Belfast, T: 028 9023 5912
