London is best recognised as the place to find new emerging talent in fashion and is looked at to provide the global fashion scene with new designers and the trends of tomorrow. The NEWGEN and NEWGEN MEN sponsorship schemes were developed by The British Fashion Council to support and nurture such talent.

The schemes offer designers financial support towards show costs and the opportunity to use the British Fashion Council catwalk and exhibition spaces at London Fashion Week. NEWGEN has launched designers such as Sophia Kokosalaki, Giles Deacon and Alexander McQueen into the international eye and continues to showcase and support the emerging designers of tomorrow. The designers below will be the first batch of NEWGEN winners designing for 2012's fashion seasons and will be representing the country in a truly prominent year.
