Tamara Horbacka appointed as Curator of the International Architecture and Design Showcase

We’re delighted to announce that we have appointed Tamara Horbacka as Curator of our London 2012 project, the International Architecture and Design Showcase.

With about a year to go, the British Council in partnership with more than 40 of London’s embassies and cultural institutes, will be hosting a three-month season of architecture and design from all over the world under the theme, The Playful City.


The event will be part of London Festival of Architecture (23 June-8 July 2012) and London Design Festival (15 – 23 September 2012).


Tamara Horbacka’s work  over the past15 years has been in curating and delivering innovative international cultural and educational programmes which focus on architecture, urbanism, sustainability and culture. She has worked with the Royal Institute of British Architects, the V&A, and most recently with Women in Architecture and Architects for Change. She is passionate about architecture, design and the role of culture and international exchange to effect possitive change.

 London 2012 Festival Cultural Olympiad runs from Midsummer’s Day, June 21 – 9 September 2012

London Festival of Architecture: 23 June – 8 July 2012

Olympic Games: 27 July – 12 August 2012

Paralympic Games: 29 August – 9 September 2012

London Design Festival: 15 – 23 September 2012
