As part of Alchemy 2014, the British Council and Southbank Centre presented a catwalk show exploring contemporary and alternative Pakistani fashion. Working with Dazed Digital, the British Council commissioned filmmaker William Williamson to produce a short film exploring youth, dress and identity in Pakistan. The film was meant to set the tone for pieces to come by looking at the individual relationships to dress in the country.
Will travelled to Lahore for two weeks, where he immersed himself and got to know a range of unusual characters - fashion designers, eunuchs, teenage bike gangs, female police officers and the everyday man on the street.
The film tells a different story from other fashion documentaries that have been made in the country and illustrates a different narrative of the country.
