East London Printmakers is an independent, artist run studio in London Fields. They provide professional and affordable printmaking facilities for artists and designers and create opportunities for them to discuss and exhibit their work. They offer open access for screen printing on paper and fabric, etching and relief and run a variety of courses and residency schemes. East London Printmakers supports thirty four key-holders, represents over 250 members and attracts over one thousand visitors annually.
The Maker Library programme at East London Printmakers focuses on creating further opportunities for members and keyholders to engage in studio activities, and learn about new ideas, techniques and technologies through connecting to others in the Maker Library Network. The programme of exhibitions, workshops and talks aim to promote printmaking, and related artforms, to a broader audience of artists, makers and the general public internationally, encouraging the transfer of knowledge and skills across disciplines.
Who’s Involved?
Jamie Temple is an artist and printmaker whose narrative driven works explore the natural and built environments we inhabit. He works predominantly with linocut, exhibits regularly, and often organises exhibitions promoting printmaking and the processes involved, as well as delivering workshops and demonstrations.
Skills and ideas sharing is key to Jamie's artistic practice and when not making his own prints he is linocut course leader at East London Printmakers.
