K-Fashion Odyssey

This exhibition documents the explosion of creativity springing from young Korean designers, all graduates of the most prestigious fashion schools across Europe. This new wave of Korean avant-garde fashion holds an exceptionally high aesthetic value, humour and social awareness with philosophical undertones.

Exhibiting designers are Chloe Kim, Gigi Jeehyun Jung, Hyein Seo, Narae Park and Rejina Pyo. Through five varied installations presenting films, garments and headdresses, the exhibition offers stories from the brightest, most exciting experimental talents and their South Korean roots. The installations have been developed from conversations between the exhibition-makers, Sofia Hedman and Serge Martynov, and the designers.

Designer biography Her work characterised by childhood nostalgia, CSM graduate Gigi Jung is currently completing MA Fashion Artefact at LCF.

Hyein Seo
Royal Academy of Fine Art Antwerp’s Hyein Seo takes an unexpectedly humorous twist on the classic horror-film aesthetic.

Narae Park 
Narae Park’s CSM graduation collection about child labour was first runner-up of Alterstyle, Shanghai L’Oreal Professionnel Award 2013.

Rejina Pyo
After graduating CSM, Rejina Pyo won the prestigious Han Nefkin Fashion Award 2012
