Film: Lisbon Architecture Triennale

1 December 2016
by João Guarantani

In its 4th edition, entitled 'The Form of Form', the Lisbon Architecture Triennale sets out to further the debate around a wide spectrum of contemporary approaches to architectural practice today - to debate the ways in which the world is transformed.

With a diverse programme, the Triennale seeks to highlight currents of thought important for the production of architecture in a social context in constant transformation.

The British Council has worked closely with the Triennale since its inception, and UK participation has always played a key role in every edition. This film was commissioned to celebrate the UK programme and to mark the opening of MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, designed by British architect Amanda Levete.

A number of central exhibitions and installations within the Triennale are hosted at MAAT, and some of the UK contributions are presented in collaboration with the British Council, including 'Where Spheres Come From', by Semiconductor, and 'Labour', a documentary by Tim Abrahams and Pete Collard following Portuguese labourers on London buildings.
