Below is a list of questions and answers following email enquiries in relation to the open call for exhibition proposals for the British Pavilion at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia. The Biennale will take place from 26 May to 27 November 2016. Any further queries will be answered on this post.

Is it mandatory to apply as a team?

We are looking for an exhibition team with a nominated lead (please see 3.2 ‘who should apply’)

Does this mean there can only be one architect in the team?

No.  As stated in 3.2, the exhibition team,

‘...will include an architect, and/or designer, and might also include researchers, artists, critics or other interested parties such that the team will be capable of…’

Provided there is at least one architect and/or designer, any number of architects may apply within a single team.

How established/qualified teams must be in order for their proposal to be considered?

It would be wise for the team to demonstrate that it has the experience and skills to deliver a major exhibition within the given timescale, but the final decision is a matter for the Selection panel.

Are there a maximum or ideal number of members to a team?

That is a matter for your judgement. It is important to demonstrate to the Selection panel that the team, of whatever size, will be able to work together successfully and that you have considered the particular role that each member will play.
