MARAM, meaning ‘aspiration’ in old-arabic, was launched in 2014 by Egyptian designer Maram Aboul Enein. After moving to Paris at the age of 17, Maram graduated from the prestigious Parsons and trained under legendary names such as Pierre Balmain, Zac Posen and Oscar De La Renta. By 2012, Maram received the ‘Sophie Hallette Lace Award’ and won American Retro’s 10th Anniversary design competition. Her inspirations lie in the unknown, forbidden and abandoned. Constantly delving into mythical worlds, her approach creates a compelling story behind each piece. Her collections are defined as an intricate merge of traditional craftsmanship techniques with unconventional design. The careful fusion of opulent furs, leather quilting, embroidery and intricately panelled construction define the brand’s statement looks.
