A Clockwork Jerusalem: The Film

18 June 2014
by Hannah Burgess

We have worked with Crane.tv to produce this short film, which introduces the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale and the exhibition commissioned for the British Pavilion this year, A Clockwork Jerusalem. Featuring exhibition curators Sam Jacobs from FAT Architecture and Wouter Vanstiphout from Crimson Architectural Historians, the film offers a snapshot of  how this year's exhibition responds to the biennale theme of 'Absorbing Modernity 1914-2014', through exploring how the international influences of Modernism became mixed with long standing British sensibilities. The exhibition examines how traditions of the romantic, sublime and pastoral, as well as interests in technology and science fiction were absorbed to create a specifically British form of Modernism, and will be on show in Venice until 28 November 2014
