We are pleased to announce that the call for submissions for the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale British Pavilion was launched at the Architectural Association on Tuesday! We were overwhelmed by the huge turn out in the AA's recently built New Soft Room. Brett Steele, Director of the AA and member of the Advisory Panel, kicked off the evening with a warm welcome. Brett was followed by Finn Williams, Founder of the Common Office, Croydon Council Officer and also member of the Advisory Panel. Finn introduced the Venice brief by explaining some of the road blocks he's coming across in the current UK system and the ways he hopes the UK pavilion will help to make these processes better. Finally, Co-Curators, Vicky Richardson and Vanessa Norwood, launched the brief and guidelines, which are now available to download from www.venicetakeaway.com. There were some great questions, and we will be compiling a FAQ sheet for the website.
